The reserve is part of the Śnieżnik Landscape Park. The waterfall falling from the 21 m high rock threshold is one of the largest waterfalls among the Sudetes. The area in which it is located is protected in a nature reserve established in 1958 on the area of 2.8 ha.
As part of the revitalization of the technical and tourist infrastructure of the "Waterfall Wilczki" nature reserve in Międzygórze, in 2016-2018, pedestrian paths, stone stairs, two viewing terraces and a steel bridge over the waterfall were renovated, the paths were illuminated and the waterfall boiler was illuminated.
